Drawing inspiration from the life of his grandfather, civil rights journalist L. Alex Wilson, this program explores themes of identity, courage, resilience, and social change through music by a diverse group of contemporary composers. Wilson's reporting on the Montgomery Bus Boycott, the Little Rock Nine, and the murder of Emmett Till helped shape the national conversation around civil rights, and his legacy serves as the emotional center of this deeply personal performance.
